Recharging-Your-Body-and-Your-Mind-Class-A-FitnessWhen you feel overwhelmed by all the things happening in your life and the world around you, how do you and those around you manage it all? It might sound selfish or backward, but the first person you need to take care of is yourself.

Caring for your body and mind enables you to better serve the people you live with, the people you work with, and even the strangers you encounter throughout the day. So, here are some ideas for recharging your body and your mind:

1. Take a warm bath.

Break out the bubbles, bath bombs, or Epsom salts and soak in the tub.

2. Get your heart rate up and sweat.

One of the best ways to manage stress is through physical activity.

3. Take a power nap.

Even a short fifteen to twenty-minute power nap can go a long way.

4. Meditate.

Take five to fifteen minutes to sit, become aware of your thoughts, and then let them go.

5. Put your phone on airplane mode.

Take a break from the digital world and unplug or turn on airplane mode for a little while.

6. Journal.

Work through your thoughts with a pen and a piece of paper or notebook.

7. Get plenty of sleep.

Try to get at least six hours of sleep each night so your body can recharge.

8. Write down three things that you’re grateful for.

Focus on the things you have in your life and that you appreciate.

9. Eat a healthy meal or snack.

Make sure that you’re staying properly fueled with healthy food choices.

10. Put on one of your favorite playlists.

Turn up the volume and sing or dance to some of your favorite songs.

11. Drink water throughout the day.

Staying hydrated keeps your body functioning and mind clear.

12. Go for a walk or a hike.

Spend a little bit of time in nature; try to leave your phone behind.

13. Tidy up around your home.

Even cleaning up a small pile of clutter can make a huge difference.

14. Read a book you’ll enjoy.

Get caught up in a story or go on an adventure with one of your favorite characters.

15. Take several deep breaths.

Close your eyes and take a few moments to just breathe.

16. Exercise your creativity.

Do something with your hands, like paint, draw, write, sew, sing, etc.

Taking the time to take care of yourself does a lot for your health and well-being, allowing you to continue helping and caring for others.
